March 2: The Mullet Haul Trail Run, 5- and 10-mile Race. Mullet Hall Equestrian Center on Johns Island, 10 a.m. Both the 5- and 10-mile races begin at 10 a.m. Following the races, awards will be presented and participants may take part in a post-race party featuring live music and beverages. Online registration is open through March 1. Late registration and packet pickup will be available on race day from 8-9:30 a.m. Fees to participate in the 5-mile run portion of the event are $34 or $28 for residents of Charleston County. March 16: Palmetto Pump & USA Climbing Competition at James Island County Park. 8 a.m.-2 p.m. Witness a competition of strength, balance and endurance from some of the region’s best climbers at the Palmetto Pump & USA Climbing Competition. Space is limited so register early and save. Registration fees: $40 before March 4; $45 on or after March 4. Spectators are free with park admission ($1 per person). Feb. 28: Hidden Histories: Rice and Liberty: The Stono Rebellion at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. 2-4 p.m. Examine the legacy and impact of one of the largest and most successful African-led uprisings in North America, the Stono Rebellion. A registered and paid chaperon is required for participants ages 15 and under. Age: 9 & up. Fee: $9/$7 CCR Discount. Pre-registration is required.

Feb. 28: Caw Caw Photography Series: Sunset Session at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. 4:30-6:30 p.m. A registered and paid chaperon is required for participants ages 15 and under. Age: 12 & up. Fee: $9/$7 CCR Discount. Pre-registration is required.

Feb. 28: Coastal Navigation Clinics: Level 2 at CCPRC Headquarters. 6-8 p.m. Learn more advanced navigational skills. Level 1 Coastal Navigation skills are a prerequisite. Age: 16 & up. Fee: $18/$15 CCR Discount. Pre-registration is required.

March 2, 6, 9, 13, 16, 20, 23, 27, 30: Early Morning Bird Walks at Caw Caw Interpretive Center. 8:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. Walk-in registrations are welcome. A chaperon is required for participants ages 15 and under. Fee: $5/Free for Gold Pass Holders.

March 2: Family Outdoor Adventure Sampler: Archery at James Island County Park. 9-11 a.m. Learn new skills and enjoy the outdoors as a family. A registered and paid chaperon is required for participants ages 15 and under. Age: 10 & up. Fee: $12/$10 CCR Discount. Pre-registration required.

March 2-April 20: Team Charleston Recreational Club at James Island County Park. 9-11 a.m. The Club Team is designed to introduce newcomers to the sport of climbing. They’ll learn to belay and climb through fun and interesting games and activities. Age: 7-17. Fee: $138/$125 CCR Discount. Pre-registration required.
