Gospel singer-song writer Desmond Pringle is teaming up with Cancer Treatment Centers of America to present a three-city concert event to inspire hope in Charleston, Chicago and Los Angeles.

Pringle will perform tonight for local faith leaders at the Alfred Williams Community Life Center, 4441 Durant Ave., in North Charleston. The event brings Pringle back to Charleston, where he developed his faith and love for music.

Pringle got his start at age 8 playing a portable organ for the new Emmanuel Baptist Church, which now is celebrating its 35th anniversary.

Pringle’s CDs include “Loyalty” and “Be Still.” His songwriting hits have been nominated for a Grammy and won a Dove Award.

Pringle now serves as senior pastor of The Watered Garden Fellowship in Los Angeles. He teamed up with Cancer Treatment Centers, a national network of hospitals focusing on complex and advanced-stage cancer, to inspire hope and offer spiritual support those who are battling the diseases.

The evening will include performances by The Singing Eagles of the Charleston Development Academy and “Alto-Tude,” featuring Vernita Dunbar, Celeste Laribo and Linda Washington.

Tickets are $30 and available at the door.
