Bull Street Gourmet & Market will close at 60 Bull St. in downtown Charleston's Harleston Village neighborhood on June 29 after 10 years in that spot.

“We will be reopening soon at a new and improved spot that we are sure our loyal customers will love,” the food merchant said on its Facebook page. “Until then, stop in and show some love to the shop that started it all.”

The newer location at 120 King St. near Broad Street will remain open.

Summerville shops

Anew strip shopping center in Summerville has been leased, and its shops should open over the next few months.

Azalea Station, a 12,700- square-foot project of Gramling Brothers Real Estate Development of Charleston at the entrance to Azalea Square Shopping Center, will feature restaurant chain Newk's Express Cafe, Jos. A. Bank clothing store, Smashburger restaurant and European Wax Center, according to Gramling's Mikell Harper.

The center is behind the proposed new Mellow Mushroom taking over the space once held by Perkins Restaurant on North Main Street.

Newk's, a salad shop with other fare, occupies the largest space at 4,521 square feet. It's set to open by July 4. Jos. A Bank will take over 4,211 square feet. Smashburger will occupy 2,068 square feet, and the wax salon will fill 1,600 square feet.

Now open

The Palmetto Store at 10086 U.S. Highway 17 at the blinking light in McClellanville recently opened in the former Bull's Bay Supply store. Owner Emmett McCrea said groceries have been supplied by Piggly Wiggly, and the shop has a line of sporting goods. Hardware items have been moved to a separate building. It also sells Shell gasoline.

App for that

Filling up with gas can soon be done with a smartphone at Spinx convenience stores.

The Greenville-based company, which has several stores in the Charleston market, is adding NCR Corp.'s ConvenienceGo mobile shopping app. The retailer, which operates stores in North and South Carolina, will roll out the “C-Go” program at 57 of its 69 stores. C-Go allows shoppers to initiate a fuel transaction, select the amount of gasoline they want and pay with their smartphones.
