Charleston Grill executive chef Michelle Weaver and staff are once again serving up the VegStock multiple-course vegetarian menu.

82 Queen will host its final offering in the Summer Dinner Series on Aug. 16.

The featured ingredients in this four-course meal will be Firefly Moonshine and beers from Palmetto Brewing Co.

Full moon rising

Laura Alberts Tasteful Options is hosting a four-course Blue Moon beer dinner by executive chef Matt Brigham on Aug. 20.

The featured beers include Belgian White, Harvest Pumpkin, Rounder Pale Ale, Tongue Thai-ed Herbed/Spiced beer and Pine in the Neck American Double.

A beer reception will begin at 7 p.m., with dinner seating 7:30 p.m.

Support your school

Kickin’ Chicken will host a School Supply Fundraiser during the month of August.

This month, visit any of the five Charleston locations, donate a dollar and get your name on your choice of a Clemson or South Carolina “Chickenhead.” All money raised will be donated to the Teacher’s Supply Closet and the Hootie’s Homegrown Round Up Back to School Basics.

Both organizations provide supplies to students and teachers in high-poverty schools.

To keep with the friendly in-state rivalry, the stores will also be competing with each other; the store that raises the most money will have its donation matched by the owners of Kickin’ Chicken.
