The College of Charleston’s fight song would instill about as much fear in you as a dog without teeth, or legs, or vision.
Right now, the school plays only the music from “The Charleston,” the 1920s tune that has a dance by the same name. And they’ve never even come up with lyrics.
But that’s about to change.
The college has launched a fight song competition. Students, alumni, faculty and staffers can enter by submitting:
original lyrics to go with the music for “The Charleston.”
original lyrics to go with another existing song.
original lyrics and music.
original lyrics for a music to written at a later date.
The deadline to enter is Oct. 18. The winner will receive a $1,000 prize.
