A school bus driver has been taken to the hospital after she was trapped inside for more than an hour after the bus struck multiple trees north of Cottageville this morning.
Colleton County Fire and Rescue Director Barry McRoy said no children were on board the bus when it wrecked on Pierce Road near White Avenue at 6:13 a.m.
The front-end of the bus caved in, trapping the driver. McRoy said crews removed her about 7:20 a.m. and took her to a waiting helicopter that flew her to Medical University Hospital.
