It was a dominant performance by the Berkeley Stags in a 40-14 victory over James Island in Thursday night high school football action.
Head coach Jeff Cruce credits a tough non-conference schedule to start its season with helping the Stags be battle hardened now. “I think the tough schedule has helped us a lot, not only because of the quality of teams that we played, but four of those five games were against pretty big rivalries,” he said.
Berkeley's three losses this season came to Summerville, Stratford and Manning, who have combined for a 13-2 record through five weeks. The Stags evened their record at 3-3 with the region 8-AAA win over James Island.
There are some great matchups in Friday night action, including:
Fort Dorchester at West Ashley
Summerville at Stratford
Hanahan at Orangeburg-Wilkinson
Goose Creek at Beaufort
