Apparently most people didn't share our enthusiasm for last week's assignment: People of the Lowcountry.

We received only a fraction of the submissions we usually get so a great big thank you to those of you who did submit, even if it wasn't a topic you were particularly excited about.

The editors chose Michael Trotman's photograph to appear in Friday's People section. Pick up a copy of the newspaper to read what they liked about it.

Hopefully you will be more excited about next week's assignment: My Charleston.

We are in the waning weeks of the My Charleston Magazine submission period and we welcome you to send us one picture about anything Charleston. Who's not excited about that?

Please make sure you identify the person and have their permission to use their image. Also, please indicate in the email if we have permission to publish it in My Charleston magazine.

The rules:

- Send just one (1) photograph to yourphotos@postandcourier.com by noon on Tuesday, June 17. Include your name, town and where the photo was taken. If you send us multiple photos we will select one randomly.

- We will allow photographs with reasonable watermarks to run in the gallery but for the winning photo that runs in the newspaper we must have a photo that does not have a watermark. If you want to send us one with the watermark (to run online) and one without (to possibly run in the newspaper) please feel free.
